Memorial Day

What a glorious day! The weather was perfect. Big marshmellow clouds blumped across a deep blue sky. Golds took me with them to the flag--flower bedected grounds of the cemetery. We paused to reflect at Kent's grave and then wandered to the north end of the cemetery to listen to the ceremony to honor veterans.
At noon we went to Cooleys for a barbeque, delicious, and games on their expansive back yard. Cooleys, Golds, Devin and his girls were all together. It brings me great joy to be with them. There was whooping and hollering as several tossed the bocci ball about. The older girls disappeared to talk as only girls can. I was entertained not only by observing it all but by holding Philip.
As the day drew on, the clouds grew dark and threatening with frighteningly close lightening and thunder. At about 5:30 they opened, drenching the world with much needed rain. It was beautiful to see, especially from inside the dry house. It also made the earlier day ever more fondly remembered.
